Frequently asked questions
What is a Bridging Visa?
It's a temporary visa you get when you lodge your new application inside Australia. It lets you stay in the country while the new visa is processed, under its conditions.
How much money do I need to show?
For the Student Visa 500 you must show you can cover your costs in Australia without relying on work. The funds must be in your account for at least 3 consecutive months before you apply; up to 25% can be on credit cards; a first or second degree family sponsor can be included and tax returns can be considered. If you pay your course in instalments, you show living costs, flights and whatever remains of the first year. Work out your case:

Triaje reference values per year: AUD 29,710 for the student, 10,394 for a partner, 4,449 per child and 8,296 per school-age child; flights AUD 2,000 per person from overseas or 1,000 from inside Australia. They change often: always confirm them in your consultation.
What English level do I need?
If you only study English, you don't need an official test: start with General English and move on to IELTS, PTE or Cambridge preparation, or English for business, engineering or health.
VET courses: IELTS 6.0 or PTE 47 for direct entry. Master's degrees: IELTS 7.0 or PTE 66.
If your score is lower, you can add weeks of English (ELICOS) before your course: 10 weeks with IELTS 5.5 and 20 weeks with IELTS 5.0. Below that, you could only study English. For master's degrees, some universities offer pathway programs with English first.
If you completed a Certificate IV or higher in the last 2 years, you don't need a test. These rules apply to tests taken after 07/08/2025.
How early should I start?
The sooner the better. Your application must be ready at least 3 days before your current visa expires, and before that come enrolment, the offer letter, the COE and health cover. Message us as soon as you know your expiry date.
